Key Takeaways
Brand: When I talk to people about brand - they often confuse this with a logo. It’s not. It’s everything. The way you structure your thumbnail, the little things you use. (That green on switch). Test things. See what sticks.
Riches in Niches: I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again - too wide of a net catches no fish. You need to narrow your focus before you can spread your focus thin. I have NO IDEA what in the world an FTP test is. But 39k people do. And those 39k people were wishing that someone would have made that video
Do the extraordinary: Sometimes it’s the thumbnail, sometimes the title. But a lot of the time videos die because the idea isn’t big enough. Double Ultra Triathlon while working full time grabs the attention, because it’s not something just anyone can do. If your video is something anyone can do…. then why make the video?
Creator News
Featuring: The Grandpa Edit

Taken from creator economy live 2025
Takeaways:
1.) It’s still going! The creator economy is at 500B USD. And it’s expected to double by 2027. It’s not too late to get started. Or to keep going. Keep pushing, and let’s ride the creator train together.
2.) LinkedIn is becoming more popular. It doesn’t have the range that YouTube does, but where YouTube is a t-shirt, LinkedIn is a suit. You dress for the occasion, and you get treated appropriately. It might be worth taking that plunge to grow your audience, especially if you’re already in the coaching/teaching space
3.) The Grandpa Edit - Over editing is quickly becoming a way of the past, and many are going toward less editing, more steady production process - but I want to caution you with this. This doesn’t mean to get lazy. This doesn’t mean don’t edit. It just means to be selective with your editing. If you’re not looking to gain the attention of a 13 year old, then you don’t need to have jump cuts every second and a half.
That said, you’re a business owner, or a strategic influencer - people still look to you as an authority - so you do have some semblance of a reputation to uphold and probably should keep SOME level of polish.

Would you do me a favor? If you got value out of this letter would you just forward it to someone who you think would get value from it as well? Thanks so much!
